It's been a funny year - no gigs for some months then two on the same day

We entertained Worled Friendship Circle for an hour. We had an on-going (fictional) story of 'Love Through The Ages' which seemed to go down well and helped to link the songs together.

St. Barnabus Church, Lower Claverham, helping them to raise funds. Last year it was raining, and as we were going to be playing outside they decided it would be safer for us to have a day off. This year they put us inside the Church which worked out very well. No problems with rain or music blowing away and the acoustics were very good. We had an attentive audience in the Church and could also be heard outside. Performed a number of our own compositions as well as other well known pieces.

From St. Barnabus in the afternoon straight on to Claverham Village Hall to help my wife celebrate her birthday. Played from about 7 to 11 with some breaks. A great night and we got lots of people up on the dance floor. Totally different repertoire from the afternoon. It's all about versatility!

Played at the Winter Gardens, Weston-s-Mare to help support the Weston Carers. It's the first gig we've done where we've played to an almost empty room! We were placed in the bar area of the Winter Gardens but everything related to the Carers was further down the corridor and in various rooms off the corridor or at the end of it. Apparently our music carried and we were were appreciated, but still .....

Entertained the guests of Somerset Legion House for their Strawberry Fayre. We always enjoy this gig, and having strawberries also helps ;-) . We are proud of our continued assocation with this association.

Helping a lady celebrate her birthday at a sheltered housing in Portishead. Again, it's a place that we've been invited to on a fairly regular basis. Always an apreciative audience and we really enjoy their company.
November 2012
No gigs for 3 months then this one at the end of November, followed by 2 more in the next six days, and another one in mid December. This one was playing at the Walton Park Hotel in Clevedon for the retirement of a local optician. We joined in the meal that was provided and played a wide range of music.

Playing at the British Legion again in Weston-s-Mare for their Mulled Wine event. Lorraine Chase (Cockney actress) was their guest. They regularly seem to get someone who is appearing in the pantomine at the Weston Playhouse. She was delightful! Complimented us on our playing/ singing and said we were very good! She did seem sincere - I believed her!

Ian and I entertained Worled Friendship Group at the Commodore Hotel in Weston-s-Mare. Considering we were missing Michael we did very well. They sang along at the end of the Christmas lunch and got up on the dance floor. A very game lot and a delight to entertain. We're developing a close link with this group, and they said they would book us again.

Playing for the first part of a wedding reception at Clevedon Hall. The bride wanted Christmas Carols, and that's what she got! Lovely place to have a reception and the staff were very helpful. Compliments at the end for us.

Looking back over the year I didn't realise we had been so busy! Bring it on!
