Variations On A Theme!
This has been an interesting time for 2 Dots And A Dash. It used to be just the three of us. However, Ian and Michael work almost full time, whilst I work part time.
On occasions when Michael has not been available we've used my wife Isabel as a substitute, singing, and using our synthesizer as an instrument to mimic a guitar or saxophone. Isabel died in January 2015.
Fairly recently we used Julia when Michael was not available. Julia also plays the tenor sax.
In August 2013 we were missing Ian, who drums and sings. We temporarily replaced him with Isabel, singing and on synthesizer, and Chris on drums, both of whom did an excellent job.
Our biggest variation was on a gig at Pilning, where we had the original gang of three, plus Isabel, together with Jackie (Baritone Sax) and Hugh(Alto Sax) guesting with us from Cadbury Wind Band.
Two Dots And A Dash might suggest 3 players, but it can vary from two to six!
